2026 Tryout Information
All prospective Volleyball players at Pflugerville High need to have an up-to-date physical on file with our trainers and all required District/UIL forms completed before being allowed to work out or try out.
District/UIL forms can be found on the PfISD Athletics website and need to be the 2026 forms. Physicals done over the summer can be turned in early if given to a Volleyball coach (do not drop off in the front office). Players/parents are strongly encouraged to take pictures of all parts of the physical form before turning them in.
Tryout Dates and Times
Saturday August 1st
8:30am to 1:00pm. Only incoming 10th to 12th grade athletes. This year, any incoming prospective 10th to 12th grade player will have an mandatory additional tryout session on Saturday August 1st from 8:30am to 1:00pm. This additional session will include conditioning on the field, court drills, and weight room testing. This session IS NOT for incoming freshmen to PHS.
Monday Aug 3rd and Tuesday Aug 4th
All prospective Volleyball players in grades 9 to 12, will have tryout sessions on Monday Aug 3rd and Tuesday Aug 4th. The tryout times for each day are 8:30am to 11:00am AND 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
Prospective players need to attend ALL of their respective tryout times to be considered for a team!
Players do not need to leave PHS between tryout sessions on Monday and Tuesday, but there will be no supervision during the break. Players are responsible for their own drinks (besides water), snacks, and/or lunches each day. Morning tryout sessions will involve physical conditioning on the field in addition to court drills. The afternoon sessions will be on the court drills. Over the course of tryouts, players will have approx 10 to 14 hours to showcase their talents and abilities.
Players are encouraged to eat a solid breakfast about 60 to 90 min before working out. Players should be dressed in athletic clothes. Suggestions on what to bring to tryouts include kneepads, water bottle (avoid cups that can leak or spill), snacks, outdoor AND indoor court shoes (if possible), and a positive attitude.
Teams will be made at the conclusion of the tryout session on Tuesday evening and players making a team for Pflugerville High, should expect team practices to begin on Wednesday Aug 5th. The first team scrimmages are on Aug 7th, and the first matches for 2025 will be on Aug 10th.
